Martyrs' Day is observed every year on January 30 to mark the death anniversary of the father of the nation Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi.


 

World Leprosy Day

 World Leprosy Day is observed internationally every year on the last Sunday of January to increase the public awareness of Leprosy or Hansen's Disease. This date was chosen by French humanitarian Raoul Follereau as a tribute to the life of Mahatma Gandhi who had compassion for people afflicted with leprosy.

 On his 125th birth anniversary, let us pay our sincere-most homage to one of the greatest Indians and salute him in the term coined by him, ‘Jai Hind’!


India celebrates his birth anniversary as Parakram Divas. It is an apt tribute to the legendary and stoic hero, the great son of our motherland for his dedication and sacrifice for the nation.

Lohri Celebration

 Lohri is primarily celebrated in the Punjab region of the Indian subcontinent by Sikhs and Hindus. Each year, the festival is observed on the night before Makar Sankranti, in accordance with the solar part of the lunisolar Bikrami calendar. Date: This year, the mid-winter festival is being observed on January 13, 2021.

National Indian Army Day

 Army Day is celebrated on January 15 every year. It was on this date in 1949, the Indian Army got its first army chief Lieutenant General KM Cariappa.It marks the day when Lt Gen KM Carriappa took over as commander-in-chief of the Indian Army from General Francis Butcher, the last British commander-in-chief of India, in 1949. Apart from this day, it is also meant as a day to honour those soldiers who have sacrificed their lives for India.
