I have been tossing the idea of blogging my experiences teaching art for quite a while and have finally managed to sit down and do it at last. This blog is intended for anyone who is looking for ideas/inspiration for teaching art for young children. Watching kids create art is the most amazing, rewarding experience! This blog will be a day-to-day (hopefully) account of activities that I am doing and hopefully full of ideas that you can use with kids.

Class VI - Animal Drawing with Zentangles
The Zentangle Method is an easy-to-learn, relaxing, and fun way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns. Almost anyone can use it to create beautiful images. It increases focus and creativity, provides artistic satisfaction along with an increased sense of personal well being.
Class 3 - Warli Art
Warli art is a beautiful folk art of Maharashtra, traditionally created by the tribal womens. Tribals are the Warli and Malkhar koli tribes found on the northern outskirts of Mumbai, in Western India. This art was first explored in the early seventies & from then it was named as “Warli art”. Tribal people express themselves in vivid styles through paintings which they execute on the walls of their house. This was the only means of transmitting folklore to a populace not acquainted with the written word.

Class V - Inspiration from Piet Mondrian
Piet Mondrian was a Dutch painter. In 1920, he set out his position as an artist with "De Stijl", where he explained that the essence of his artist ideas and themes, was simple. Painting is composed of colour and line; these elements must set an example with other forms of art in society, in order to gain success. He represents in his work, the ideas of unity; universal beauty.
He was and is still considered the founder of Modern Art.
When Mondrian made his paintings, he would always mix his own colours, never using the paint directly out of a tube. He often used primary colours – red yellow and blue – as in this painting.
